Henirette is based on a photograph of an installation of a sculpture where the knee moved at the joint. Louise's sister, Henriette, had a limp and Louise also memorialized vetereans' post war injuries.

Betye compares the fires over Los Angeles with Blow Top Blues as sung by Billie Holiday, Etta James and Nancy Wilson. Liberation transforms Aunt Jemima’s turban which was taken from a cereal box insert as a mask and the holes for the eyes reveal the fire.

Andrea followed up her 16 unit lithograph Sprawl I with Sprawl II exploring the theme of excessive urban sprawl in this case highlighting golf courses. Pre Google maps Andrea pieced together 8 ilithographs and 8 mirror images lithographs to pattern a larger expanse. This is a detail of 4 units.
