Internationally known in the field of modern and contemporary visual art, Dolan/Maxwell is located in Philadelphia's historic Germantown neighborhood. Director, Ron Rumford, and Assistant Director, Jon Eckel welcome interested individuals, experienced collectors and art professionals by appointment. Dolan/Maxwell specializes in fine prints and works on paper by artists from the 1930s to the present. Their works are presented seriously and in depth with emphasis on Modernist works from the WPA era, Europe and Atelier 17, the New York School, art by African Americans as well as International Contemporary artists. We work closely with the artists and the estates of artists we represent. We augment these works with carefully chosen sculptures and paintings on canvas or panel by artists whose work complements our core and are of particular interest to us. As a founding member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) we have notable expertise in works on paper in all media.

A Portrait: Dexter Davis
Dexter Davis creates powerful, rhythmic, collages using hand-printed woodcuts, found material, as well as various painting and drawing tools. His hand is always present and each element has been rigorously worked and deeply considered.
