Stanza del Borgo Srl
Milan, IT
The Stanza del Borgo was founded in 1967 by Liliana dal Pozzo, Silvana Bareggi’s mother-in-law, and was one of Italy’s first galleries to specialize in Old Master Drawings. The gallery has exhibited at Florence’s prestigious Mostra Internazionale dell’Antiquariato from the very earliest years of the fair. Directed by Silvana Bareggi since the 1980s, the gallery has broadened its areas of interest beyond drawings to include Old and Modern Master Prints, small-format paintings and Japanese prints. Silvana Bareggi’s great passion - derived from her study of art history - prompts her to organize every year, exhibitions accompanied by illustrated catalogues. The catalogues contain scholarly entries and provide exhaustive and up-to-date bibliographic references. Stanza del Borgo specializes in works by the principal Old and Modern Masters, among them: Dürer, Schongauer, Rembrandt, the Tiepolo family, Goya, Piranesi, Fattori, Pissarro, Whistler, Signorini, Picasso, Chagall, Gauguin, and Morandi. For the Japanese prints: Harunobu, Utamaro, Hokusai, Hiroshige, Kuniyoshi, Yoshitoshi, Hasui.
