The exhibition features work by five artists, ranging from symbolism to geometric and painterly abstraction to photographic realism. Included are unique monotypes as well as limited-edition etchings and photogravures — a hybrid of photography and intaglio printmaking.
Artists invited to Manneken Press typically travel from cities such as New York, Dallas, or Bogotá to our central Illinois studio, where they work intensively for a week or longer. The artist’s presence is crucial, and the compressed nature of these working sessions often yields a cohesive body of prints that can stand individually or function together as a series — hence the term “project.”
