Announcing the 2025 IFPDA Foundation Grantees
The IFPDA Foundation has awarded funding to fourteen cultural and educational institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Tate Liverpool. The IFPDA Foundation was established in 2009 as the grant-making arm of the IFPDA. The Foundation is supported by ticket proceeds from the IFPDA Print Fair and by contributions from donors and Members. “The IFPDA Foundation is one of the only grant making programs that focuses on prints and printmaking. Our programs shine a light on the art historical value and cultural importance of prints and editions,” said Jenny Gibbs, Executive Director of the IFPDA.
In 2024, David Cleaton-Roberts (Cristea Roberts) and Andrew Witkin (Krakow Witkin) were appointed as co-Presidents of the IFPDA Foundation, succeeding Paula Panczenko, who stepped down with her retirement from Tandem Press. Additionally, the Foundation Board welcomed newly appointed members: Stewart Gross (Lightyear Capital), Katie Michel (Planthouse), Amy Raehse (Goya Contemporary), and Trude Gomnæs Ugelstad (The Queen Sonja Print Award).
The IFPDA Foundation Curatorial Internship program empowers the next generation of print curators and scholars. Grants are made to museums with print and drawings curators who select and mentor interns. Interns contribute to exhibitions and support collections through cataloging, research, and public programs, gaining hands-on experience and professional skills. The 2025 IFPDA Curatorial Internship Grantees:

This is the fourth year of the IFPDA’s partnership with the historically Black Colleges and Universities of the Atlanta University Center and the Art History + Curatorial Studies Collective (AUC Art Collective). Internships with the mentorship of established IFPDA Members provide an onramp to career opportunities in the visual arts and fine art printmaking. The 2025 Atlanta University Consortium IFPDA Internship Grantees:

- Spelman College — with Paulson Fontaine Press, Berkeley, CA
IFPDA Foundation Grants provide financial support to museums and non-profit organizations for exhibitions, publications, and educational projects that promote greater awareness and understanding of the value of prints and printmaking as an artistic medium. The 2025 IFPDA Foundation Grantees:
- American Federation of Arts — To support the US traveling exhibition “Rembrandt: Masterpieces in Black and White—Prints from the Rembrandt House Museum” and additional programming on the art of etching.
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art — To support a retrospective exhibition of the art of John Wilson (American, 1922-2015) opening in September 2025, co-organized with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
- Milwaukee Art Museum — To support the exhibition “Seeking Revelation: German Romantic Prints and Drawings”.
- Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, Geneva— To support a publication on the occasion of a colloquium on Russian avant-garde prints.
- Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute — To support the exhibition “Shadow Visionaries: French Artists Against the Current, 1840-1870”.
- Tate Liverpool — To support the exhibition “Chila Kumari Singh Burman: Demolish Serious Culture”.
- Vanderbilt University Museum of Art — To support the exhibition “Paper Backs: Hidden Stories of European Prints”.
