The six large-format Remix woodcuts (2008) by George Baselitz on display correspond to a repetition of his famous Heldenbilder (hero images) from the 1960s. As early as 2005, Baselitz created the so-called Remix series, in which retrospective research and repetition of his own work is declared an artistic concept.
Similarly, the exhibition brings together woodcuts by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, which exist repeatedly in his oeuvre in the form of paintings or in other techniques. Using different artistic techniques as a method to create works with a high degree of independence and distinctiveness.
