Emanuel von Baeyer Cabinet presents a small group of considerably rare etchings by some of the leading artists of the Danish Golden age.
We see it as a small addition to the recently closed exhibition “Beyond the Light: Identity and Place in Nineteenth-Century Danish Art” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
All the works are from the collection of Benjamin Wolff (1790 Engelholm – 1866 Copenhagen), a Danish business man, collector and amateur artist who personally knew most of the artists of his time.
All the prints are offered in untouched condition and were obtained directly from the artists by Wolff. We can assume that all the prints are presented as issued. They are all early and rich impressions.
