Wang Suo Yuan was born in China and has lived in France since 2002. Introduced to photography by his father, he also worked in jewelry and graphic design before turning to fine arts. Trained in engraving at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Versailles, then at the Counterpoint workshop in Paris (ex-Atelier 17 of Stanley William Hayter), in 2006 he chose to begin a more personal probe into the variations of line, in order to develop a specific mode of expression. Recipient of several prizes, he has presented his work to the public in numerous solo and collective exhibitions as well as biennials and international fairs, in France, China, Spain, Japan, the United States, South Korea, Belgium, Romania, Canada, and Germany, notably at the Biennale internationale d’estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières.
