Leonardo Drew; a selection of prints from 2015
Crown Point Press

In-Person Viewing:
20 Hawthorne Street San Francisco, CA 94105, USA

In 2015 the New York-based sculptor Leonardo Drew created eleven etchings in the Crown Point etching studio. Drew used a physicality inherent in the etching process to create prints that have rich and varied surfaces. He worked experimentally, manipulating materials to develop surprising textures. On view in the Crown Point foyer gallery is a selection of six prints from that project. Rich blues and blacks dominate, as well as warm brown. Drew’s prints are an accompaniment to Water, a group exhibition in the main gallery featuring 15 artists whose prints are influenced by water.

In addition to our show, you can see more art by Leonardo Drew in San Francisco. The sculptor’s works on paper are on view at Anthony Meier Fine Art, and two etchings made at Crown Point Press are on view at Saint Joseph’s Art Society’s group exhibition, Becoming which continues until September 17. Further afield, Galerie LeLong & Co. in New York is presenting new work later this month, and Cycles, an exhibition of prints from the Jordan D. Schnitzer Family Foundation is on view at the Patricia & Philip Frost Museum in Miami, Florida
