gallery neptune & brown is pleased to present Jowita Wyszomirska’s fifth solo exhibition, Echoes of the Understory. Concurrently with this exhibition, Jowita Wyszomirska’s work in at view at the Baltimore Museum of Art in the exhibition, Crosscurrents: Works from the Contemporary Collection.
Jowita begins her artistic practice in nature. With each journey into the forest, she delves into the depths of the thicket uncovering and discovering the secrets of the understory. Much like a scientist, Jowita studies and collects flora specimens. In her studio, she employs eco-printing techniques using high-temperature steam that unearths unique colors from her collected treasures. She further experiments with mixed media, painting, and drawing, revealing a final work of art that reflects the interconnection and vitality of the undergrowth within the ecosystem.
